Job Description

Strategic Manufacturing Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement on time, on budget and on schedule a wide range of significant CapEx projects, including automation solutions and production hardware and software.
  • Lead and manage internal and external stakeholders (including Suppliers) to successful completion of projects
  • Research, identify and implement new manufacturing technologies and solutions that can add value across CMR operations
  • Develop reporting, data analysis and monitoring tools enabling the business to make operational decisions
  • Driving the transformation of the manufacturing environment through application of Lean Six Sigma and Operational Excellence tools and techniques.
  • Using simulation and modelling tools to provide insight into operations activities, so the facility is right first time, and identifying areas for process improvement to enable the company’s ambitious growth.

About You:

  • A degree in a Manufacturing, Automation, Engineering, or other relevant field.
  • Practical manufacturing experience is essential; preferably in a complex electro-mechanical, automation, or process engineering environment.
  • You will have led significant CapEx projects and/or have project management experience.
  • Used data analysis and modelling tools to identify process improvements or develop and implement solutions (Witness, coding or another discrete event package is ideal).
  • A robust understanding of software and process validation within ISO-13485 or from other regulated industries such as Aero-space or Automotive.
  • Configured or rolled out ERP and MES software packages or functionality in a modern connected manufacturing environment (Netsuite / Aegis FLx).
  • A Lean Six Sigma qualification or demonstrable experience delivering manufacturing process improvements.
  • An enthusiasm for new technologies and digital transformation in the manufacturing environment. Experience implementing Industry 4.0 activities an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills, you will need to present your ideas to multiple levels of the business in an appropriate style for the audience.
  • Observant and detail oriented, you will also be able to step back and see the wider implications of a solution or idea.
