Senior Root Cause Analysis

Responsibilities:

  • Working independently and as part of a wider team, your responsibilities will include:
  • Leading small teams of key stakeholders from across the business to rapidly develop creative technical solutions to critical issues in the field before they affect customer experience.
  • Producing excellent documentation to guide and report the results of investigations and to facilitate the sharing of findings across the business.
  • Having contained a problem and got our customers or our manufacturing line back on track, you’ll turn your hand to drilling down into the true root cause of problems to ensure we implement the right process improvements in the field and drive our R&D teams to make the most valuable product improvements.
  • Mentoring and developing newcomers to the team to help develop their technical knowledge and investigative techniques.
  • We’re a high-growth company and roles can change and evolve. You’ll need to be willing to turn your hand to anything within the team’s remit that supports the team with delivering its objectives.

About You:

  • Experience in engineering, physics, or a related discipline.
  • A proven track record of applying your cross-disciplinary systems engineering skills in a product support or development environment.
  • Be a technical expert in at least one from: software, control, electronics or mechanical engineering and have a good understanding of the other areas.
  • Enjoy getting to the bottom of challenging problems using structured, data-driven techniques – you’ll be the sort of person who simply doesn’t give up until they’ve truly uncovered the root cause of the issue.
  • Able to communicate your expertise, understanding and proposed solutions clearly and concisely to colleagues at all levels within the business, in both written and spoken formats.
  • Flexibly handle switching between multiple, parallel investigations under challenging time-pressure.
  • Be excited by the opportunity to help develop and support team members and the chance to help shape and grow our team.
  • It would also be helpful if you have:
  • A relating degree desirable, however passion and experience in engineering, physics, or a related discipline even more important.
  • Experience of helping grow a team beneficial, however if you haven’t yet had much opportunity, we can help offer support.
