Root Cause Analysis Lead
Responsibilities:
- Lead a diverse team of engineers through investigations into the root causes of complex system issues with an active involvement in the technical detail and risk management
- Build the Root Cause Analysis team including designing, documenting and implementing a framework of processes and procedures that ensure issues are prioritised and resolved effectively
- Work closely with technical, quality and clinical teams to drive changes and improvements into the companies product and service offerings
- Support & inform key stakeholders who manage the technical support and customer feedback pro-cesses to ensure that investigation outcomes are effectively communicated across the business and to our customers
- Support and develop team members through technical mentoring and professional coaching
- Contribute to the design of complex software and hardware systems that support the operation of the company in the field
About You:
- Experience of investigating problems with complex systems down to the root cause using techniques such as FMEA, Fault Tree Analysis, 5 Whys, etc
- Experience of complex product development or manufacture in a regulated industry such as Medical, Aerospace, Automotive or similar
- Broad skills across software, electronics, mechanics and control theory, and expertise in at least one of these areas
- Driven to uphold the highest standards of rigorous, data-driven analysis and decision making
- Able to clearly communicate complex technical ideas and time-critical plans to non-technical Senior Managers
We would also like you to have experience in at least some of the following areas:
- Technical leadership
- Line management of technical teams
- Deep understanding of Root Cause Analysis techniques and how to apply them
- Manufacturing operations and process improvement
- Good working knowledge of Python and C
- Statistical analysis techniques
- Signal processing, control systems and analysis of dynamic systems
- Electromechanical design to safety standards (e.g. ISO 60601, 61010, 62368 etc)
- Quality management standards (e.g. ISO 13485, 14971, 9001)
- Providing through-life and mission-critical support for complex devices, possibly in the medical field
