Job Description

Quality – Product Compliance Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Product Compliance Officer by creating and maintaining policies and protocols on behalf of the organisation.
  • Develop compliance processes including establishment of any user requirements for tools supporting the compliance process.
  • Support REACH compliance and compliance to other global product and/or packaging regulatory/environmental legislation such as SCIP, RoHS, Conflict Minerals, California Prop’s 65 etc.
  • Support the ISO certification activities and conduct audits with the support of the Compliance Officer and QA Manager on site.
  • Provide customers with product compliances information and data as required for regulatory submissions to European and Rest of World agencies.
  • Create documentation in response to customer regulatory requests which includes certifications, regulatory letters, technical packages, etc.
  • Monitor new and emerging legislation/policies, determine impact and assure compliance to products.
  • Develop and implement a compliance program to ensure the organisation operates in accordance region directives (EMEA).
  • Maintain working knowledge of UK/EU and global legislation as related to products and business.
  • Support the PM’s and marketing teams when using compliance data (i.e UL, test specifications etc).
  • Adhere to all applicable government and company regulations, practices and procedures to maintain compliance.
  • Participate in company quality programmes e.g. Internal Audits, Calibration, etc

 

About You:

  • ROHS – Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive.
  • REACH – Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and Restriction of Chemicals.
  • Conflict Mineral.
  • Proposition 65 in California.
  • SCIP Database – Substances of Concern In articles, as such and in complex objects (Products) (SCIP) database.
  • TSCA – Toxic Substances Control Act of 1976.
  • IMDS (international Material Data System)
  • POP
  • Attention to detail. Must be a strong communicator and capable of expressing oneself clearly both speaking and in writing
  • Possess a collaborative personality and be open to suggestions from team members and other departments.
  • Exemplify strong knowledge of industry protocols and best practices
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to accurately interpret complex documents and policies
  • Strong time management and organizational skills and able to meet deadlines
