Gauging Calibration controller


  • Maintain and take ownership of company gauges across our sites that are used for dimensional conformance to support our manufacturing output. This will involve ensuring all gauges are fit for purpose, calibration control and carrying out minor repairs or liaising for internal/external repairs.
  • Assist the Manufacturing / Quality departmental staff in maintaining good product output by ensuring gauge compliance, calibrated and fully usable through training others and support in their function to the business.
  • Provide solutions and implement temporary control during any gauge unavailability to ensure we ensure product conformity.
  • Build good relationships with internal gauge users.
  • Identify all gauges that require calibration.
  • Calibrate gauges as required.
  • Assist Manufacturing in identifying gauges that require repair.
  • Liaise with Toolroom and/or external gauge suppliers for more complex repairs.
  • Assist Quality with implementing temporary control while gauges are repaired.
  • Assist Quality in training of gauge use.
  • Assist Quality in the Type 2 r & R studies.
  • Log best practice for gauge manufacture and issue.
  • Build good relationships gauge users.
  • Maintain Gagepack software systems & records.
  • Develop and implement gauge maintenance records.

About You:

  • Dynamic mind-set with a positive attitude that has the ability to multi task and work under their own initiative.
  • Confident in collaborating with internal and external teams / suppliers and confident to make and to implement actions.
  • Methodical and driven to achieve and maintain standards and requirements for dimensional conformance.
  • Able to present agreed KPI’s to management team to help drive Quality standards for gauging status across the business.
  • Basic engineering skills – Desired
  • Gauging experience – Essential
  • Computer literate – Excel / Powerpoint – Essential
  • Gagepack software – Desired
  • Minitab software – Desired
  • Problem Solving – Essential
  • 6 Sigma / Green Belt trained – Desired
  • Minimum 2 years Quality background experience.
