CNC Miller
Responsibilities:
- Maintain standards of Housekeeping and Health & Safety.
- Manufacture of new tooling to engineering drawings in line with timing plans.
- Carrying out proactive maintenance and up keep on milling machines.
- Liaise with toolmakers, Cad/Cam programmers and Designers.
- Investigate issues to find root causes passing information back to the design department and management so issues can be avoided in future.
- Maintain tooling to the correct standards and keep stock of all tools and holders.
- Reporting of any concerns, issues and repairs.
- Working in a systematic fashion following any instructions available,
- All work checked before taking off.
- Maintain cutters and equipment.
- Maintain working area to a high standard. Working to 5S’s
- Good verbal communication skills
- Work to the high tolerances
- Adhere to company quality awareness.
- Meeting Health and Safety standards supporting others to do the same
- Assist other areas of the business when required to carry out the same or similar tasks
- Any other reasonable Engineering duties required

- Time severed toolmaking apprenticeship
- Time served CNC Miller Setter, Operator Programmer.
- Understanding technical drawings
- Work to tight tolerances
- Must be able check own work
- Level 2 in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence)
- Level 3 in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Toolmaker, Tool and Die Maintenance
- 5 years CNC Milling setting, Operator Programmer
- Toolroom based CNC Miller
Desirable
- Maths Grade C or higher
- English Grade C or higher
- Manual milling
- EDM experience
- Wire experience
- Bench experience
- IOSH training
- Six sigma training
- 5S training
- Proficient with Hurco and Heidenhain
- Plastic injection mould tool experience
