Analyst Programmer
Responsibilities:
- Meeting with users to discuss business IT requirements.
- Designing, writing, testing and implementing programs, dashboards and other software to meet those requirements, both within Epicor and in auxiliary systems.
- Diagnosing and fixing routine IT problems.
- Maintaining the IT systems by applying fixes and upgrading to new releases.
- Training users.
- Advising users on the functionality of the business system.
- Writing documentation for users.
- Procuring, installing and maintaining hardware.
- Assisting our IT support partners in maintaining the network and administering software licenses.
- Controlling data security and access
About You:
- A degree or equivalent in a computing discipline relevant to commerce or industry is desirable.
- Any qualifications demonstrating basic office skills, accountancy skills and literacy and numeracy are desirable but not essential.
- Familiarity with the Epicor environment, particularly the programming and customisation tools, would be ideal but not essential.
- Working knowledge of, and experience with, at least one programming language, preferably an object-oriented language such as C# or Java.
- Working knowledge of SQL is desirable but training can be given.
- Good user-level understanding of Microsoft Windows. Currently we use Windows 10 Professional.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office products, particularly Outlook, Excel and Word.
- The ability to explain complex issues with great clarity, both in written and verbal communication.
- The ability to work alone or as part of a team.
- Several years in a similar position; working in the IT department of a manufacturing company.
- A broad knowledge of Epicor would be ideal but, failing that, some years of working with another ERP system in a company that uses MRP for production control.
- Several years of programming experience, preferably in an object-oriented language.
- Experience with relational databases, preferably SQL Server.
