Get to know the team – Josh Bryan

1) What’s your name and job title?

Josh Bryan, Senior Recruitment Consultant

2) How long have you worked at Willcox Matthews?

3 years, time flies!

3) What does your job entail?

24/7 support to both clients and candidates consulting them through their needs

4) What is a typical day like?

Check-in on all Emails / texts / Voicemails I have received, prioritise the jobs I need to work on that day, source suitable candidates for my clients and keep them updated with interviews and what the market it like

5) Favourite memory from your time at work?

Bring promoted to Senior Consultant, this was a big goal for me at the time.

6) What’s an ideal client?

Someone who is open with what they are looking for and when they have the right candidate acts quickly!

7) What advice would you offer for someone who wants to be in your industry?

Choose a sector that you are interested in or would like to learn about. I cover Injection Moulding (Plastics) and Nuclear/Energy

8) What do you like most about your job?

When you have a “perfect” candidate you know the client will love!

9) What do you find most challenging about your job?

Counter offers! It’s scary how high the percentage is of people who stick around but then regret it

10) Where are you from?

Born and raised in Birmingham, moved to Worcester at a young age

11) Where did you go to school?

Blessed Edward Oldcorne Catholic College, Worcestershire

12)What do you like to do when you aren’t working?

Chilling and hanging out with family and friends, playing golf and watching the Villa UTV

13) What do you follow outside of work (sports / theatre / tv shows / comics)?

I have a season ticket for the Villa and play Golf to a County / England level

14) What’s a fun fact about you many people may not know?

Before my time in Recruitment, I was a Golf Professional qualifying for Europro and playing on circuits around the Midlands

15) What was your first paying job?

Working in a Golf Pro Shop

16) Do you have a pet?

Unfortunately, not one that lives with me but certainly in the near future

17) What’s one thing you’re really good at / one thing you’re really bad at?

I’d say I am good and meeting my clients needs but not so good at doing tasks our Office Manager asks to be done on time! 😊

18) What three items would you take with you to a deserted island?

Nandos sauce, Wolf of Wall Street book, more Nandos Sauce!

19) If you could have a career in anything, what would it be?

Would have to be some type of Secret Service / 007 job, every guy’s dream job right?

20) If you could meet anyone (real / fictional) who would it be and why?

Easy, Tiger Woods!
